About the event

With commitments to R&D, electricity market reform, and grid infrastructure upgrades, the UK's new Industrial Strategy sets a direction for growth - but how far does it go in delivering the scale of transformation needed?

Join us for a timely discussion with leading voices from industry, clean energy and climate policy. We’ll explore how the strategy addresses industrial energy costs, infrastructure bottlenecks, innovation, and the UK’s Net Zero targets, whilst highlighting where policy gaps remain.

As the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero consults on a new British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme, and begins implementing a Connections Accelerator Service, the webinar will be a key opportunity for discussion on how these interventions will take shape, what will be their key strategic priorities, the key eligibility criteria. It will also assess how these strategies link to wider policy and developments, including the Government's Comprehensive Spending Review, the CCC's Progress on Reducing Emissions report, and the Review of Electricity Market Arrangements (REMA). Discussion will focus on how the Government's new suite of measures can enhance industrial competitiveness whilst facilitating a shift to net zero industrial manufacturing.

This session is part of the Foresight Webinar Series, building momentum towards The Foresight Event later this year, a flagship conference focused on clean growth, technology, and the future of the UK energy system.
