Sizewell C Showcases UK Nuclear Ambition and Regional Investment at The Foresight Event in Liverpool

Sizewell C, one of the UK’s most significant energy infrastructure projects, will be exhibiting at The Foresight Event: Conference and Exhibition in Liverpool, connecting with industry leaders, manufacturers, developers, and public and private sector partners as it delivers one of the largest clean energy investments in a generation.

With more than 450 senior attendees and 25 exhibitors, Foresight has become a key convening space for the UK’s energy, infrastructure, and industrial communities. Sizewell C’s presence at the event underscores the project’s central role in strengthening the UK’s energy security, accelerating net zero, and creating long-term economic value across the country.

The new nuclear power station, currently under development in Suffolk, will generate reliable, low-carbon electricity for around six million homes and play a critical role in reducing the UK’s reliance on imported energy. But its impact reaches far beyond the East of England.

Sizewell C has committed to ensuring that the benefits of nuclear investment are felt nationwide, with £2.5 billion of project spending in the North of England, £900 million in Wales, and a target for 70% of the build to be delivered by UK companies. Already, hundreds of British businesses are engaged in the supply chain — from advanced manufacturing and construction to digital, engineering, and professional services.

As part of that commitment, the project recently opened a new office in Manchester to attract talent and strengthen links with suppliers and partners across the North, where total project spending has already surpassed £168 million. Exhibiting at The Foresight Event, builds on that momentum, allowing Sizewell C to engage directly with companies that will help deliver the next phase of the project.

Andy Edgeworth, the Engagement Lead for the North & Wales, Sizewell C, said: “The Foresight event is a great opportunity for those in the North and Wales to showcase how we are all working towards a net zero future.”

He also added that: “Sizewell C will be a major part of that journey — delivering secure, low-carbon nuclear power while creating long-term opportunities for businesses, skills, and investment across the UK. It’s a chance to connect with others who are shaping a cleaner, more resilient energy system for the decades ahead.”

The Foresight Event focuses on the long-term transformation of the UK’s energy system, industrial decarbonisation, and economic growth and projects like Sizewell C align to these objectives. By exhibiting at the event, the project team will highlight streams for cooperation and business development between the key industry leaders.

Sizewell C’s participation also reflects the growing role of nuclear in the UK’s energy mix and the clean energy strategy, alongside renewables, storage, and grid modernisation. With construction expected to support tens of thousands of jobs and skills opportunities over the coming decade, the project is positioning itself as a cornerstone of Britain’s industrial renewal.

The Foresight Event delegates are invited to meet with the Sizewell C team to gain further insight into the project, explore avenues for collaboration, and learn how to participate in one of the UK's most significant Nuclear Development Projects.
